Long Night Against Procrastination -- Longue Nuit Anti-Procrastination--fall 2014

  • The LNAP is an all-night event that serves several purposes: to help students whose schedules do not permit them to visit writing support centres during the day; to encourage healthy working habits; and to bring attention to Writing Centres by creating a unique and fun atmosphere for students who are looking for help with their writing assignments.
  • The LNAP will take place on November 6 to 7, 2014 in the Rutherford South Library, from 8pm until 8am.
  • Three University of Alberta's writing centres will participate: The Centre for Writers (North Campus), Writing Resources (North Campus), Le Centre d'ecriture bilingue (Campus Saint Jean).
  • Throughout the night, participating students will be able to bring their writing projects, participate in one-on-one tutoring sessions (French-speaking tutors from Campus Saint Jean will be there!), talk about their ideas, spend time brainstorming and writing, get feedback from tutors, eat, participate in workshops, etc.
  • Here is the schedule of activities.
  • The Facebook page is here, and you can REGISTER for the event right here.
  • Our Twitter hashtag is #UofA_LNAP. Feel free to tweet about your experience throughout the night :)
  • The event is fully wheelchair accessible.
  • Safewalk volunteers will walk (for free) with students to and from all campus residences (including Campus Saint Jean) ALL NIGHT (see map safewalk).
  • At midnight, there will be an international dinner (see menu menu).
  • At 6:30 am, there will be a "survivors' breakfast!"
  • A computer lab will be available to participating students.
  • A wonderful group of sponsors are making this event possible.
  • About 15 other Canadian universities and colleges are participating at the same time.
  • The event is coordinated nationwide by the Canadian Writing Centres Association (CWCA).
